Graston TEchnique

Dr. Lystad utilizes stainless steel instruments to comb over and “catch” on fibrotic tissue, which immediately identifies areas of restriction. The instruments enable the doctor to treat soft tissue lesions with depth, pressure, and specificity necessary to affect the condition at the site of pain as well as following the kinetic chain to find and treat the cause.

Once the tissue dysfunction has been identified, the instruments break up the scar tissue so it can be absorbed by the body.

Graston Technique is clinically proven to achieve quicker and better outcomes in treating:

  • Achilles Tendinosis/itis

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • Tennis Elbow

  • Golfer’s Elbow

  • Patellofemoral Disorders (knee pain)

  • Plantar Fasciitis

  • Rotator Cuff Tendinosis/itis

  • Shin Splints

  • Cervicogenic Headaches

kinesiology taping & exercises

Kinesiology Taping is a specialized non-traditional taping method. The tape allows you to move freely compared to traditional white tape that restricts your motion and is uncomfortable to wear. Kinesiology taping allows for motion and sometimes you don’t even know it is there.

Dr. Lystad utilizes this taping technique for the following:

  • Support of the muscles and enhancing the ability for the muscle to work properly

  • Helps blood and lymphatic circulation and reduces inflammation

  • Can help as a pain reliever

  • Helps with joint dysfunction

Dr. Lystad requires an effort on the part of his clients. He advises pre-hab and rehab exercises for client’s to activate certain areas that might have caused dysfunction or can possibly cause dysfunction. These exercises are a foundational part of your healing in this office.
